India Pants

Tonight I'm wearing my India pants. Not the fabricated pants like the ones in this picture. But the ones that wear on my emotions. The decisions to put them on or take them off have never been mine, although I like to think they are. But indeed, it was my decision to purchase them for a high price of 8 months. The pants love solitude and hate crowds, love adventure and hate commitments, love understanding and hate assumption. Yes and no. Back and forth. On an off. I never thought putting on and off pants could be so darn draining.

Just the facts...

So here's the news. Not good. Not bad. Just straight up facts. (Facts from a girl on oxycodone and emotionally ... well, slightly unstable and a little heartbroken.) Argentina is in the rear view mirror now - this means no traveling for a long while, the thing I love most. No walking for 6 weeks - who knows when I'll run again, the thing I love most after traveling. Several months of physical therapy for a stapled MCL, replaced ACL, a sewn meniscus and fractured femur. (I've always had weak bones, so it doesn't surprise me.) 45 minute surgery turned into a 2 hour surgery, not as scary as I thought. Trampolines are dangerous and I will never jump on one again. I'll be back at WWU this quarter, possibly in a wheelchair? Not sure what classes I can take yet. My friends are the best. They've called, visited, emailed, and prayed. Most of all, I've got the best Father, who tells me: "Come to me, I know you're weak and have found life burdensome...

Sun, are you coming?... after a late night I'm watching a beautiful sunrise. Waiting is hard. The silhouetted Blue Mountains are becoming lighter and lighter. The sun should peek out any second. The house is filling with light causing my eyes to squint out the window toward the East. We had a girls sleep over last night. 12 of us! Each girl, such a close friend to me. I've never had so many awesome girl friends in my life! And never have I had as many sleepovers in my life, as I have in the past 4 months. Sun, I'm still waiting for you!
